Memorial First World War Welden

At the back of the St. Martin's Church is a frame for the fallen from 1914 - 1918.

In the top center is the figure of "Christ the King" with outstretched arms and sword in a belt. On it "Unity makes power".
Left and right of the head:
"They died for kings
for the country's honor & for freedom "

Underneath the royal crown with "Pro patria"
At the bottom is a woman with a fallen soldier in her arms.
The whole comes across as fine and artistic.

On the left and right we see the photos of the fallen with some details: name of their parents or wife, place and date of birth, place where they died and date.

On the left we read the names:
Frans THE GREAT
Amedee ROOBROECK
Remi EECHAUTE
Richard VAN BOST
Achiel BAELE
Arthur STEURBAUT

Right: Emiel GABRIEL
Remi GEVAERT
Alfons DE SMET
Prosper EECHAUTE
Aimé VIAENE
Louis THE GREAT
Gerard DE BOCK
