Peace Memorial Korbeek-Lo
On the occasion of the 100th anniversary of the end of the First World War, a peace monument was erected in Korbeek-Lo, part of Bierbeek.
At the beginning of 2018, the municipality of Bierbeek organized an art competition to design a new peace monument. A collective of artists won the competition with the monumental work 'Vuurstaal'.
This was solemnly unveiled on 11 November 2018, 100 years after the Armistice Day of the First World War.
