Käthe Kollwitz Realschule

The building was built between 1903 and 1905 as a secondary school for girls and was named Luisen Lyceum. At the initiative of mayor and music lover Hans Löwe, the lyceum was given a spacious and unique music hall, which has since been used for various cultural events. During the Second World War, the school served as a military hospital. From 1945 to 1949 it was also used as a town hall. Since December 1949 the school has been called Käthe Kolwitz Realschule.
