Commonwealth War Grave Killybegs

On Killybegs Old Graveyard there is a grave of 18 year old Vincent Henry Lavery, who perished aboard the British Royal Navy ship, HMS Corncrake on the 25th of January 1943 during World War Two. The ship was lost off the Donegal coast during a treacherous Atlantic storm, while escorting a Canadian Royal Naval convoy to Gibraltar.
