Soviet Cemetery WWII Prienai

On the edge of the center of the town of Prienai is a Soviet cemetery from WWII. The information board at the entrance gate tells us that this site was thoroughly refurbished in 2006 with the support of the Russian embassy, however at the time of visit (2021) the site did not give the impression that much maintenance has taken place since then.
In the center is the statue of the kneeling soldier with flag and the inscription for the dead of the war 1941-1945. To the left, right and behind the statue are a total of 41 tableaux with the names of more than 600 fallen. Some of them died in 1946, a former combatant was also buried there in 1964. Finally, behind the statue there is also a plaque in memory of 27 unidentified fallen soldiers.
