Memorial of the Liberation Hertain

Hertain was the first Belgian village to be liberated by British troops during the Second World War.
Immediately after the end of the war in 1945 it was decided to build this monument. The memorial was inaugurated on 16 July 1949 in the presence of Marshal Montgomery, Commander of the 21st British Army.
