First War Memorial Șelimbăr

On an artificial created hill is a memorial to commemorate 33 unknown Romanian soldiers and 8 Austrian soldiers that died in this area in 1916. They were buried in this place until 1932, after which their remains have been brought to a Crypt under the Altar of the Church of Șelimbăr

The monument was erected in 1932 and it also honors the battle between Mihai Viteazu and Andrei Bathory that also took place here on Ocotber 28th 1599.
"In memory of the soldiers of Michael the Brave who fell on this place in 1599 and of the Romanian soldiers who fell on the stretch of the country in the war 1916-1919."
