Memorial RCAF Station Boundary Bay

The Boundary Bay airport is located on the site of the former Royal Canadian Air Force Station Boundary Bay. During WW2 the station was home to: Number 18 Elementary Flying Training School (British Commonwealth Training Plan), Number 14, 132, & 133 Squadrons (operational fighter squadrons), and 5 Operational Training Unit. A cenotaph in front of the modern terminal list the names of 29 Airmen who died while serving at the station. Hanger #3 from WW2 is still in use at the airport. Although it has been updated its WW2 origins are recognizable. There is an interactive display inside the airport terminal that tells the history of the Air Force Station and airport.
