Parkfriedhof Lichterfelde

In 1905 it was decided by the community of Grand Lichterfelde to construct an new cemetery. For the design they asked Landscape Architect Friedrich Bauer. The cemetery was constructed under the direction of Gartenbauinspektor Paul Eschenbach bestween 1908 and 1911. The first burial took place on May 17th, 1911. The cemetery was enlarged in 1926-1927 and in 1938. At the cemetery there is an area with victims from World War I (64 victims) and World War II (2089 victims) among them many military from Berlin-Lichterfelde.
