British Memorial First World War Honnelles

From 2 to 4 November 1918, the Franco-Belgian border area in Hainaut was the scene of deadly fighting between British and German troops. There were battles in Roisin, Angre and Angreau. Nearly sixty young soldiers were killed there a few days before the armistice.
They belonged to the regiments of the Royal Engineers, the Gordon Highlanders and the London Scottish.
On 1 July 2018, this monument was inaugurated by the municipality of Honnelles in memory of the soldiers buried in Angre, Angreau, Erquennes, Roisin and Montingies-sur-Roc.
