German War Graves Velen

In Velen on the cemetery several tombstones and plaques of those killed during the 1st and 2nd World War. The graves are in a sort of field together.
Furthermore, 3 plaques with a large stone Iron Cross on the middle one. These plaques and the cross belonged to an earlier monument erected on the sports field in 1928 and demolished in 1977.

The inscription on the plaque is in dialect.

As a reminder of the missing, as a legacy to the living, as a warning to those to come.
In honor of our fallen 1939 – 1945
