Mobile Aeroplex

Mobile Aeroplex was a USAAF airbase during World War II under the name "Brookley Field". The base was built in 1939 around a pre-log municipal airfield. Construction work was completed in January 1942. Brookley had the Mobile Air Depot and a maintenance center run by the Air Technical Services Command. The depot was used for air force purposes in southeastern USA and the Caribbean. Air Transport Command also used this airfield.
