Camp Bouse

This area was selected for its remoteness. The 9th Tank Group (Medium) (Special) were trained here. The out-of-date M-3 tanks of this group were equipped with top-secret British-made devices called Canal Defense Light" (CDL). The group trained here until April 1944. The CDL tactic was successfully used for the first time in December 1944 during the Battle of the Bulge.

Remains of the camp are still in-situ.
