Camp Horn

During World War II, one of six division-sized CAMA camps was built here. The 81st Infantry Division trained here until November 1943, when it became clear that there was no longer any need for desert training. The division was then sent to California and Hawaii to participate in the war in the Pacific. Today there is a monument here that commemorates this event.
