Remembrance Stones Pannenhuisstraat 144

At this location is a stone in memory of four members of the Zolty-Lemel family. The mother and her three children were arrested here on 9 June 1944 by the German occupiers. They all perished in Auschwitz on August 2, 1944.

The family consisted of:
Dyszka Zolty, born 9/20/1909;
David Lemel, born 12-01-1937;
Berisch Lemel, 22-10-1939;
Mireille lemel, born 25-03-1944.

The father, Jacob, managed to escape and survived the war.
This stone was designed by Riet Smulders.
