Thunderbird Airport #1

Thunderbird Airport #1 was used during World War II to train U.S., Canadian, British and Chinese pilots. The airfield was returned to the community after the war. Today, Arizona Christian University is located here, which retains many of its original buildings, including the air traffic control tower, barracks, and a large hangar.
