Gila River Relocation Camp (Butte Camp)

Gila River Relocation Camp was an internment camp for Japanese-Americans during World War II. The camp was opened in July 1942 and closed in November 1945. Ultimately, 13,348 civilians would be interned here.

Today, camp remains and a monument can still be seen here.
