Pinedale Assembly Center / Camp Pinedale

The Pinedale Assembly Center was located in the former employee housing units of an abandoned mill in Pinedale, Fresno. During WW2 it was an encampment/internment camp for Americans with a Japanese background. The camp was closed in November 1942 and taken over by the 4th AF. Under the new name of Camp Pinedale, it became a training base for the Air Force.
