Marine Corps Air Station El Toro

Marine Corps Air Station El Toro was commissioned in March 1943 and had several satellite bases. Hundreds of Marine pilots trained here during the war, with most if not all later served in the Pacific. The base was closed in 1999 and large parts were developed into park areas and urban living spaces.
