Los Alamitos Army Airfield

Los Alamitos Army Airfield was established in 1928 as a tent camp with an airstrip. The base was expanded starting in 1939 during a period when it also became a subbase of NAS San Diego. In 1943, the base officially became a Naval Air Station. In 1945 the base was one of the most important Naval Air Stations in the US. In 1972 the base was taken over by the U.S. Army and National Guard. Auxiliary airports of Los Alamitos:

- Horse Ranch Field
- Palisades Airport
- Mile Square Farm
