War Memorial Salzbergen

This memorial commemorates the residents of Salzbergen who were killed or missing in World War I and World War II.

Near the center of the town of Salzbergen, located along the railway, is a generous monument in memory of those who fell in the various wars.
The monument consists of a figure on a pedestal and several plaques attached to a raised rear wall. In the center of this elevation is a cross, dedicated to the victims of the bombing of the site, made of metal shards from the local bomb remains.

The texts on the plaques;

(1812, 1870-1871)
In previous wars they died for the fatherland.

(1914-1918)
Wanderer rest and think of our brothers who died so that the homeland may live.

(1939-1945)
In memory of the war victims of the displaced and refugees, whose relatives have found a home in the Salzbergen community.

In memory of the bomb victims of the Second World War in Salzbergen.
