Non Pladuk (Nong Pladuc) Camp

Non Pladuk was a Japanese transit camp (and later hospital camp) for Allied prisoners of war. Nong Pladuk served as the starting point of the Burma Railroad.

The camp was opened in 1942 and closed on February 22, 1945. In December 1943 the camp was split into camp 1 & 2. The first camp housed British, Australian and American POWs, while Camp 2 housed Dutch POWs.
