Memorial Executed 21 and 29 July 1944 Priziac

On July 21, 1944, six men were taken by truck to Carnal-Vihan in Priziac, on the edge of the road linking Le Faouët to Plouray (Morbihan). The Germans had them get out of the truck and dig a pit about forty yards off the road. Then they were shot. Their bodies were not exhumed until August 7, 1944, by the residents of Carnal-Vihan, who discovered that their skulls had been smashed with pickaxes. Five bodies riddled with bullets could be identified, those of Pierre Daniel, head of division FTPF, Marcel Croizer, Louis Le Moaligou, Jean Le Tréhour and Yves Yannès.
On July 29, 1944, Laurent Bigoin, who had been arrested on July 24 in Persquen (Morbihan) and interrogated at the Sainte-Barbe school in Faouët (Morbihan), was taken to Priziac in the forest of Kerhoat and executed.
