Berchtesgaden Cemetery

The old cemetery Berchtesgaden contains war graves and graves of special people.

- Dietrich Eckhart. Adolf Hitler's patron and pioneer of National Socialism.

- Georg Grethlein and Josef Lohr. Grethlein was a supervisor in the engineering firm that was in charge of the Nazi construction projects on the Obersalzberg near Berchtesgaden, where Adolf Hitler had his Alpine home "Berghof." Grethlein’s congenial personality made him very popular with his co-workers. After Allied troops occupied the area in May 1945, Grethlein attempted to maintain order among the plundering. On 5 May 1945 he and his driver, Josef Lohr, were shot to death by a drunken French occupation soldier. They were buried together in the same grave.

- Hans Heinrich Lammers was a German judge and civil servant. During the Nazi era, he was head of the Reich Chancellery. In 1949 he was sentenced to 20 years in prison for war crimes and crimes against humanity.

- Gunter Warbeck. Soldier, died in Russia.
