Memorial Park and Cemetery of Warriors and Hostages

At the corner of the cemetery there is a landscaped grave area for hostages and fighters, which was expanded between 1963 - 1965 by the architect Fedja Košir into the memorial park. In the park there is a platform at the beginning of the cemetery with a fountain of life (fountain with dancing girls and boys) and a pillar of hostages (sculptor Zdenko Kalin).
After the liberation in 1945, next to the room where the hostages and other victims were buried, they started to bury the fallen partisans - Ljubljanaians from all over Slovenia. Thus, a large cemetery of fallen combatants was created in a new part of the Ljubljana cemetery.
