Information Sign Bombing Ta' Sannat

In the morning of the 10th October 1942, two German bomber airplanes Junkers 88 which were on their way to Malta were pursued by two British Spitfire fighter planes. To better manoeuvre and avoid the British planes, the German bombers released their bombs which fell on Ta' Sannat village.
One of the bombs destroyed a bakery that was situated round the corner on the right. As the bakery was full of people, victim numbers ran high: eighteen died and many others were wounded.
