Home Guard Memorial Benches

Sometime after the end of WW2 (1948?) former members of Lydford Home Guard erected 3 benches in the village. One was on School road close to the school, one on School road in middle of village and the 3rd close to the war memorial. The war memorial and school benches have been replaced in recent years but the original plaques have been rented. The bench in the middle of the village appears to be the original bench, having concrete supports.
One of the pictures of Lydford War Memorial shows the bench in the background. A black and white photo of the memorial in deep snow and before the WW2 names had been added suggests the bad winter of 1947 and does not show the bench.
