Widerstandsnest 241 Fort De Digosville

Widerstandsnest 241, Fort de Digosville or Batterie de Bretteville-haut was build between 1878-1880 In order to protect the harbour of Cherbourg. Since 1910, the fort was armed with four 240mm guns, the Germans added a Regelbau 612 for a 75mm F.K. cannon.
You can park in the vicinity of the fort, but it is only sporadically opened to the public
Note : Do not confuse Fort de Digosville ( Wn 241 ) with Heeres-Küsten-Batterie Digosville, the latter is located a few kilometers further.
