Widerstandsnest 144 La Pernelle

Widerstandsnest 144, manned by elements of the729. Grenadier-Regiment belonging to the 709. Infanterie-Division, was an artillery observation post.
This was located at an altitude of 84 meters, in the village of La Pernelle and consisted of a Regelbau 120a (Artillerie-Beobachtungsstand mit Panzerturm), an R608 ( Gefechtsstand ), a Vf6a (Beobachtungsstand ) and a few Tobruks.
This mainly served to give fire control to Wn 149 "Hessen" 9./H.K.A.R. and Wn 147 10. /H.K.A.R., the last one was still under construction.
