Monument Captain Jacky Thomas

The monument is in commemoration of Captaine Jacky Thomas. He died on October 23, 1983 together with 57 other French colleagues in Lebanon.

On October 23, 1983, two bombings were carried out in Beirut with trucks loaded with explosives. The first attack was on the American barracks near the airport with 241 casualties. The second attack on the French shelter known as the "Drakkar" incident resulting in 58 victims.

Captain Jacky Thomas was the commando course instructor at Camp Margival (Wolfsschlucht 2).

The monument was erected in 2020 through the efforts of the Aisne 44 association, which also provides the camp.
In building 2 is an exhibition of Captaine Jacky Thomas.
