Memorial Cemetery Kampstraat Heerlen

At the cemetery at Kampstraat 48 in Heerlerheide (municipality of Heerlen) near the entrance, a monument has been placed in memory of two miners who were summarily shot.

On the monument it is written:

IN MEMORIAM

Meinardus Templars
born in The Hague
June 6, 1904

Rainier Savelsberg
born in Schaesberg
April 27, 1895

shot dead by the occupying forces in Bergen L. on May 2, 1943
and interred here on July 5, 1946

FOR GOD - QUEEN AND FATHERLAND
