Memorial Pelle Group

The Pelle Group was a Norwegian resistance group that comprised around 100 saboteurs and carried out many operations, 7 of its members were executed in 1945. Their biggest success was an attack on 23 November 1944 which resulted in the blowing up of 6 ships, one crane and two dry docks at two shipyards. No members were awarded any medals for their actions.
The monument (by Kirsten Kokkin) was unveiled on 22 Nov 2013 by crown Prince Haakon along with the last 2 surviving members of the Pelle Group. The memorial features resistance fighters with weapons, banners, illegal newspapers and bicycles as well as the names of 63 of the saboteurs, their main supporters and those killed during resistance operations.
