Polish War Graves De Klinge

On the cemetery of De Klinge three Polish soldiers are buried who fell on 17 September 1944 during the liberation of De Klinge by General Maczek's First Polish Armored Division. The three soldiers were killed when their tank exploded.

The grave monument reads in Dutch and Polish :

Next to the monument is the grave of their brother in arms Helmut Kasperek who married after the war and continued to live in Belgium until his death in 1950 at the age of just 27.
