Monument Tsar Nicholas II

Tsar Niicholas II Romanov indebted Serbia by saving the Serbian army during the First World War. The fact that Nikola Pasic - the Prime Minister of Serbia during the First World War, bequeathed a part of the money for the construction of the monument to Tsar Nicholas in his will, shows how grateful Serbian politicians were to him.

This monument was donated to Serbia by the Russian Historical Society in Moscow and unveiled on November 16, 2014 by the Serbian Patriarch Irinej and the Patriarch of Moscow.

The inscription on the pedestal quoting the words of Emperor Nicholas II reads: "All my efforts will be aimed at preserving the dignity of Serbia and in any case Russia will not be indifferent to the fate of Serbia".
