Memorial Amesbury

In the Abbey Church of St.Mary and St.Melor there are two memorial plaques for the world wars:

"In lasting memory of the glorious and heroic dead of Amesbury"

For 1914-1918 32 names are listed, for 1939-1945 there are 29 fallen.

There is also a memorial plaque of the Fowle family.
At the bottom it says: "…and also in proud and loving memory of their sons":
Louis Richard FOWLE: killed in action at Gallipoli on 4 June 1915, aged 28,
William Meade FOWLE: Died after wounds received in France March 16, 1916, aged 28 years.
