Bloc P Fort Tancrémont

Bloc P is located several 100 meters from the fort.

This was the other entrance to the fort. At this location also the mortuary was located.

In the years the fort was in use, one of the road would lead to this bunker. To protect the bloc the road was equipped with anti-tank obstacles.

The bloc has an observation turret with extandable periscope (on top in the middle of the turret). The other armoured turret was an extendable air intake unit. This unit was controlled with a system of pulleys, cables and counterweights. The air intake unit would be used mainly through the night. Throughout combat actions this would be an easy target. The unit could be extended 18 m.

The turret sustained some ricochets.

To the north bloc O is located. This bunker also was equipped with an observation turret and an expandable air intake unit.

For an example of an extended air intake see the outpost of the Battice fort. One of the two air intakes is in partly extended position.
