Memorial Our Lady of Beauraing Gomery

Along the road from Gomery to Bleid, at the edge of a field, there is a memorial
for victims of the Second World War.

After a few steps you arrive at a pedestal on which a statue of Mary stands.

Victor Beauraind was a resistance fighter, member of the Secret Army, zone V,sector 7. Commander of Group II, former Belgian Legion. Arrested on May 9, 1944.
His death sentence was commuted to hard labor. Shot in the "mass grave" of the Citadel of Liège on Saturday, September 2, 1944.

Jean Louis de Prémorel died on April 10, 1945 in Buchenwald, was 26 years old.

Jean Habay was resistant.
Remy Habay sub-lieutenant motorized brigade of Ardennes Hunters. Died in the prisoner of war camp Oflag in Prenslau on April 12, 1945 during English bombing.
