In Rottweil there was a powder factory, still for hunting rifles.
More importantly, due to the disappearance (from Italy) of real silk, parachutes could no longer be made!
They switched to artificial silk. In other words, the 'textile cloth from artificial silk' for the parachutes was woven there. The buildings (not visitable) are still there, and their purpose is recognizable in the photos.
In the Rottweil area there was a strong defense to protect this production. The (many) foundations of the flak artillery are still present in the surrounding forests around Rottweil. Rottweil was liberated by the French army.
