Memorial to the defenders of Belgrade 1915

This monument was built in 1988 by sculptor Nikola Kolja Milunović. It is made of stone and bronze and is 350 cm high.
It is dedicated to the defenders of Belgrade in 1915, who died during the fall of Belgrade that year. The monument contains a quote from Major Dragutin Gavrilović's famous command:

"At exactly three o'clock the enemy will be crushed by your mighty attack, blown up by your bombs and bayonets. The face of Belgrade, our capital, must be bright. Soldiers, heroes, the Supreme Command have erased our regiment from its numbers. Our regiment was sacrificed for King and Country. You no longer have to worry about your lives no longer existing. On to glory! Long live the King! Long live Belgrade!"

This order was pronounced by Major Gavrilović not far from that place, at the corner of Cara Uroša and Mike Alasa streets, where a memorial plaque was placed in 2013.
