Memorial Expelled Sudeten Germans

This memorial commemorates the thousands of expelled Sudeten Germans who were expelled from May 1945 immediately after the Second World War. During the marches from Brno (Brünn) many died on the way.
Next to the monument on the left is a stone with the following text:
Eine Bank vor der Drasenhofner Kirche –
Rastplatz für drei Südmährer ?
Nein - Sterbeort im Zuge des
Brünner Todesmarsches !
This means:
A bench in front of the Drasenhofner Church –
Resting place for three South Moravians?
No - place of death during
Brno Death March!

On the cross on the right is the following text:
Never forget
This means
Never forget
In memory of the thousands of Sudeten Germans who died on the death march in Brno in May 1945.
It was not until the end of 1946 that the inhuman cruelties came to an end. Here on the hill
on Brunnerstrasse you looked back at your beautiful, stolen homeland for the last time.
Against the hatred of atonement
