Belgian War Graves Belsele

The cemetery contains the war grave of the ANDRIES brothers, Jozef and Petrus, who both died for their country in the First World War.
Jozef was a soldier 2nd class, 4th Hunters on Foot. He died in De Panne on October 2, 1918.
Petrus was a soldier 2nd class 1st Engineer. He died in Calais on November 16, 1914.
Both received the decoration of Knight of Leopold II with palm and the War Cross with palm.
They were initially buried at the place of death, later they were reburied together in Belsele.

The second grave is that of Christiaan DE BELIE.
He was deported and stayed as a prisoner of war in the Stendal camp in Germany.
On February 22, 1945 he died as a result of an aerial bombardment. He was 22 years old at the time.
