Memorial Park Picton

Memorial Park is in two parts, the large flat area to the north was once a tidal lagoon. Rowing regattas were a regular event on the lagoon with the Victoria Domain creating a natural grandstand. However, in 1950 the area was reclaimed and became part of the Victoria Domain War Memorial Park.

The second part of the park is the main entrance to the Marina and Shelly Beach. The entrance statements and plaques were erected in 1954 as a memorial to Picton and Sounds residents who laid down their lives in WWII 1939-1945.
