Memorial Fort Hohenklingen Stein am Rhein

Hohenklingen Castle stands above the town of Stein am Rhein.
There are two memorial plaques on the wall of the tower.

At the top is the coat of arms of Poland and Switzerland, below that the text in German and Polish:
"1940 1945
For all the soldiers who came after them
fight for the freedom of Poland in Switzerland
found refuge"

The text on the second memorial plaque reads:
"In memory
to the soldiers
from the Lakes Region
died in
active duty
1914-1918
1939-1945"
