Memorial Operation Jubilee

This monument is erected in memory of Operation Jubilee, which took place here in August 1942.

Operation Jubilee was an Allied attack on the German-occupied port of Dieppe during World War II, which occurred on August 19, 1942.

The attack was carried out by over 6,000 mainly Canadian infantry soldiers. None of the main objectives were achieved. 4,384 out of the total of 6,086 men were killed, wounded, or captured.
