Belgian War Graves Marcourt

The Marcourt cemetery contains several war graves from the First and Second World Wars.

PIRET Clément Henri Joseph, born in Hermalle-sous-Huy on May 23, 1890.
He was a guardsman at the National Guard on Horseback.
Fallen on the field of honor in Lampernisse on October 31, 1914 at the age of 24.
He was reburied on May 16, 1922 in the Marcourt cemetery.

PIERRARD Léon, born in Samrée in 1923.
He was a prisoner of war in Germany and died there in Oberhausen in 1945.

PETIT Victor, born in Marcourt on March 23, 1913.
Fallen on the field of honor in Saint-Servais (Namur) on May 12, 1940.
He was a soldier with the 2nd Ardennes Hunters 1st Bat 3rd Comp
He was killed in air raids when the troops were regrouping near Suarlée and were discovered by the German Luftwaffe.

SCIUS Jules, born in Marcouray on February 5, 1921.
He was a resistance fighter. When the Germans withdrew on September 9, 1944, he was arrested and shot.
