Memorial Fallen German 71st Infantry Division Villy-La-Ferté

The French War Cemetery also contains a memorial stone in memory of the fallen of the German 71th Infantry Division involved in the fighting for Fort Villy-La-Ferté in May 1940. This fort was part of the Maginot Line.

The text on the stone reads:
"Gedenket der Gefallenen
Villy - 1940
71 Inf.Div."

The clover leaf is the symbol of this division.
