Memorial Rendeux-Haut

There is a memorial plaque at the old town hall of Rendeux-Haut in memory of Emile Dupont, resistance fighter, born in Rendeux-Haut on June 6, 1877 and died after returning from Buchenwald on May 20, 1945.
A street in the village was named after him.

The memorial plaque reads:
"Look... and remember this obscure thing.
But how pure a hero of the resistance
Emile DUPONT
Born in Rendeux-Haut on 6-6-1877
Appointed municipal secretary on 10-10-1928".

This is followed by a list of the locations where he was imprisoned.
"St.Léonard – February 1944
Vught – March 1944
Saxhenhausen – September 1944
Buchenwald – February 1945
Returned to Huccorgne on 5-5-1945
where he died on 20-5-1945"
