Pulpit Luitpolarea Nuremberg

Luitpoldhain is a 21 hectare district park in Nuremberg. On this hill are the remains of the large pulpit of the Luitpolarena.

In 1927, the very first Nazi party conference took place in Luitpoldhain. During the second NSDAP party conference in 1929, the almost completed Hall of Fame Monument, inaugurated in 1930 by Mayor Hermann Luppe, was included in the event. This monument was a tribute to the more than 9,000 soldiers who died in Nuremberg during the First World War and was located on the east side of the forest.

After the Nazis' seizure of power in 1933, the Nazi Party Rally of Victory took place in Luitpoldhain. The area was transformed into a structured parade area called the Luitpolarena, covering an area of 84,000 m². A speakers stand was built across from the Hall of Honor. The Hall of Fame originally commemorated the National Socialist dead during the Hitler Putsch of 1923.

During Nazi Party rallies, SA and SS marches took place in front of up to 150,000 spectators. A central 'relic' was the blood flag, which, according to tradition, was carried by the Nazis during the Hitler Putsch. At the inauguration of the blood flag, new standards for SA and SS units were 'inaugurated' by touching the flag.

On August 28/29, 1942, the Luitpolhalle was destroyed by bombs during one of the first air raids on Nuremberg.
