Railway Station Villers-Bocage

During the Second World War, the English are said to have organized the defense of the town from the station of Villers-Bocage.

The 1/7th Battalion, Queen's Royal Regiment of the 131st (Queens) Brigade (7th Armored Division) entered Villers-Bocage to strengthen the English defense apparatus.
The town had to remain in British hands with the help of B Squadron, the rapidly approaching C Squadron and elements of 1st/7th Queens on the west side of Villers-Bocage.
Lt-Col Desmond Gordon, commander of the 1st/7th Queens sent A Company to the train station in the southeast of Villers-Bocage, B and C Companies would guard the center with the eastern entrance. The troops selected good defensive points for themselves and prepared to receive the approaching Germans.

The former train station would now be the company canteen of a factory.
