The REIMAHG (short for Reichsmarschall Hermann Göring) was an underground weapons factory in the Walpersberg near Kahla in Thuringia in 1944/45. Approximately 12,000 forced labourers from all over Europe were brought to Kahla for the construction of the tunnels, the production halls and the subsequent weapons production, many of whom died from malnutrition and exhaustion. They were housed in camps in and around Kahla, while the German personnel stayed in buildings and rooms that had been requisitioned for this purpose.
Camp 2 (one of a total of 40 camps) consisted of approximately 28 barracks and around 1,000 forced labourers who were put to work in the underground factory where the Messerschmidt ME 262 jet fighter was produced
